Of course the Internet jumps on the Google bandwagon every time the company sneezes, but today it’s getting ridiculous.
Google Apps Premiere, is basically an dumbed-down office suite for the Web at a price. All of the applications are free anyway and there’s nothing terribly compelling yet for companies to drop Microsoft Office and switch to a paid Google solution.
Google Talk, Gmail, and Google calendar are solid web applications (and I have to admit I use them religiously), but I can’t possibly think of a good reason why anyone would want to pay for those services.
I’ve been using Google Docs and Spreadsheets for collaborative work with colleagues, but they don’t provide the speed or functionality found in Microsoft office.
Other than the amazingly cheap $50 per year, per user price point, I can’t see much reason to use the service exclusively.
The end. Or is it?
